ALPHA 10 843WHP on 93 octane! 1004WHP on Race Gas!, Agent orange gets an update.

Not that long ago ALPHA 9 equipped Operation Agent Orange went up for sale. It was not on the market long and a lucky Chicago Resident snatched it up and QUICK! Upon delivery of the car the new owner had a ton of Audio and interior work done to the car. In addition he contacted us for a an ALPHA 10 conversion and a 93 octane tune.

The results were GREAT and I’ll get to that in a minute for now lets walk you though some of he build pictures

I had big plans for this weekend. I know Autobahn pretty well and I planned to test 2 different configs in 2 days – weather dependent…

We drove up Friday night after work. And by ‘WE’ I mean myself, my wife (married 6 months ago) and our 3 yr old puppy. It’s about 3hrs to Autobahn up by Chicago, IL. The plan was to camp out Fri & Sat at the track. We leave the driveway at 5:07pm. About 5:45pm my wife hears they spotted a Tornado in our hometown at 5:15pm – so we juuuussssttttt missed it. The AMS Subaru GD/SG Chassis 3/8” Rear Body Lift Spacers were designed to remedy the unattractive rear squatting or “saggy butt” issue. CAD designed and Water-Jet cut, these corrosion resistant 6061 aluminum spacers provide an easy, quick and affordable solution to provide a much more attractive “raked” look. During design, we’ve found that a 3/8” spacer is the maximum height possible to allow for proper thread engagement on the factory strut hat studs and fastening nuts. AMS Street Class EVO X : Cam Testing and 700whp!

Just today we had a chance to test some new AMS spec camshafts in our street class EVO X. The car was baselined with kelford ‘B’ cams on the same tune that the car ran out at Buttonwillow and set the street class record with, narrowly beating our Shop GTR, both being piloted by AMS’s president Martin Musial.

The design goal for these cams was to make more power, while still being able to retain adequate drivability on the stock ECU. Major Modifications to the car are as follows:

AMS 2.3L motor with 10:1 compression ratio
AMS Prototype CNC head package w/ 1mm over valves
AMS Spec Camshafts
AMS FMIC, LICP, UICP
AMS 900x turbo kit @ 33 psi
AMS Single exit 3″ exhaust
AMS Custom paralell fuel pump system
AMS Fuel rail
ID 2000cc injectors @ 72% IDC
ECU controlled boost, single bottom port WG solenoid

Here you can see the results from our cam testing. These cams are available now. There are no losses on the bottom end, and it makes about 25more hp up top with 1 lb LESS BOOST! These cams are good for an easy 30-35whp over the already awesome B cams. Read more…
