Another ALPHA 10 GT-R is born.

Jeff’s 2010 GT-R was amongst that group and he was getting quite the treatment… an ALPHA 10 Package to be exact. Jeff like every customer had some special goals. He wanted great 0-60 times, gobs of torque and 1000whp if ever the situation called for it. The ALPHA 10 was the obvious choice.

Jeff told us up front that he was rarely going to see race gas so big power on pump was a must. We put together a tried and true package consisting of:

ALPHA 10 turbo kit
ALPHA 3.8 Race engine
ALPHA cylinder head package with ALPHA Camshafts
ALPHA Induction kit and front mount intercooler
ALPHA fuel system
ALPHA fuel rail kit with Fuel pressure regulator
ID2000 CC injectors
ALPHA ported throttle body service
Dodson/ Exedy Sportsman Clutch and full transmission build by ShepTrans

Final numbers:

93 Octane pump gas: 834 whp and 676 Ft / lbs of torque
MS109E unleaded race gas: 1013whp and 832 ft/ lbs of torque

AMS Drag Evolution VIII preparation for the Texas Mile

October 2010

It has been a busy summer and fall so we got a late start at preparing our Drag EVO 8 for the final Texas Mile event of the year.  We learned a lot from our first time doing standing mile racing earlier in the year.  The stress and strain of running a 4 cylinder car at such high power levels over the course of such a long distance creates a lot of heat!  Better cooling and oiling was going to be a must!  We also realized that the EVO 8 is not very aerodynamic at 220+ mph!

Unfortunately with such a late start we were unable to make any aerodynamic improvements to the car.  The biggest problem with choosing to do top speed racing with an EVO 8 is it has a huge aerodynamic foot print.  While wind tunnel testing could help us reduce the coefficient of drag, it is very expensive and time consuming.  With such a short amount of time we stuck to our roots and concentrated on increasing efficiency and adding more brute AMS power!

AMS Denmark VS AMS Germany Drag EVO battle!

There has been a friendly battle brewing between AMS Germany & AMS Denmark Drag EVOs. Last year Lars piloted the AMS Denmark EVO to a 9.21 @ 162 MPH run taking the title of Denmark’s fastest car. Later on Lars also managed a 9.01 @ 156.18 MPH ¼ mile pass earning the title of Europe’s Fastest and Quickest EVO.  However Paul Dziubek and AMS Germany have been catching up to Lars times and recently the team managed to blast off a 9.09@ 156 MPH quarter mile pass with the car only running 2.5 bar of boost. Knowing there is plenty left on the table AMS Germany called out Denmark to a duel, naturally Lars accepted the challenge. In preparations for the race the Denmark evo has undergone some major changes including a slew of AMS go fast goodies  and even an AMS Drag EVO custom turbo kit as pictured below.

AMS Drag Evo VIII to compete in the Texas Mile – Update

Well our beloved drag car is now about to get loaded into a trailer for the Texas mile. The finishing touches were performed the past few days. Some final aero steps were taken on the front bumper. The air horn was applied to the turbo. The cage was seamed up in a couple more spots for added safety and rigidity. The exhaust was finished as well with a very cool and unique look out the front bumper. The air to water setup and Radiator were totally finished and Justin performed some last minute adjustments to the suspension and alignment. Or course last but not least she got her throw back sticker treatment. Toss in a little paint on the bumper and Texas here we come!

Friday the 26th will be the first day for passes on the car stay tuned for more updates.
