AMS/ALPHA GT-R parts now available in Japan at Tokyo Auto Salon

Recently AMS was contacted by Tomei to ask permission to distribute our products in Japan.  Coming from such a great tuner we were honored for the opportunity.  Now thanks to Garage G-Force (http://www.gf-eng.co.jp/) you can now source AMS and ALPHA GT-R parts in Japan.

AMS’ latest Endeavor: Mercedes 5.5L Twin Turbo Platform

Just before Christmas we made the leap into what will be our next platform. There were a lot of options available to us but at the end of the day the most attractive looked to be the new Mercedes 5.5L Twin turbo line.

With gobs of displacement and two turbos hanging off of it the potential for big power is massive.

One of the big developments at AMS over the late 2011 season was our tuning department. Our tuners Chris Black and Mitch McKee spent some time overseas training on new software and tools needed for our tuning department. Hundreds of hours were spent in house decoding ECU files and maps to unlock new avenues in ECU tuning here at AMS. With this new knowledge and tool set we are now able to tune just about every european ECU in house here at AMS. These new abilities will prove invaluable in our development of the Mercedes performance packages. Read more…

AMS Audi R8 V10 Development

AMS recently had a good friend and customer of ours ask us to look into some performance upgrades for his V10 R8 to help shrink the gap between his ALPHA 10 GT-R. The first stage was to measure stock HP and to do a custom AMS tune.

Thankfully we had just invested a great deal of time and money so we can do in house custom ECU tuning on just about every European car on the market.

JRZ Suspension Engineering is proud to introduce the JRZ RS1, a revolutionary development in multipurpose high performance damping.  Applying our race winning technology, JRZ designed the JRZ RS1 to give ultimate comfort for public roads and precise chassis control when driving on track.

The JRZ RS1 is a high gas pressure, single adjustable monotube damper. The canister has been designed inside of the damper.  JRZ inner canister technology gives the advantages of monotube canister dampers without the mounting concerns and complexity.  Easy to install, the JRZ RS1 is available as a complete kit with mounting hardware and springs for all applications we support.  Built on the same production line and sharing components with our pro racing applications, the JRZ RS1 is of true professional heritage.  Following JRZ’s design philosophy, the JRZ RS1 has a large 22mm diameter piston rod in strut applications and a 16mm diameter piston rod in aluminium damper applications.  The large piston rod magnifies the high pressure gas charge which means great chassis control without using a high spring rate or increasing harshness.  Read more…

AMSPerformance’s Hearse Build – Update 8

The slower winter season has allowed us to continue to work on the Hearse a bit more in between shop projects. Lance has put lots of time into cleaning up the engine bay, weeding through wires, removing unnecessary items , etc.  The harness Lance and Randy @ Yates EFI designed together came out amazing.  The harness is fully installed and the layout really allowed us to clean up the engine bay.

We opted to remove the LS6 intake and in its place went a Victor JR intake, Aarons Elbow, LS2 TB & ID2000 injectors. This will be worth some power, support our future motor and really adds to the cool factor of the build.  The fuel system is all complete up front and we’ll be addressing the rest of the system in upcoming weeks.
