Time attack competitor, Ryan Gates, took the time to tell us about his experience at the Texas Mile with his driver blog and now Cinesthetics has released a film of his record setting run with his AMS Performance built, 750whp, Evo X. As you can see in the video, he was at the top of fifth at 180mph for the last quarter mile because of the dog box transmission! Nonetheless, the Gates311 Evo is now the fastest Evo X in the America.

It’s kinda sloppy, but sometimes that happens. Enjoy the vid, and thanks to AMS for getting the car prepped so quickly! Stop by the 2010 MOD ( Mitsubishi Owners Day) this Saturday at the Mitsubishi USA HQ in Cypress CA for a chance to meet AMS Time Attack driver Ryan Gates and AMS Hill Climb Team David & Allison Kern and get a chance to take an up close look at their championship winning race cars. Ryan’s Time Attack EVO X will be on display in the Mitsubishi booth, David & Allison’s AMS Hill Climb EVO will be on display in the NOS Energy drink booth.

While out at Infineon Raceway this week doing some testing, we decided to try the car out on the strip. With a race coming later this week, I took it very easy on the launch, but then ripped it once I was off the line.

The result? 11.2 at 137.6mph!!!

The previous record was a 10.17 at 135.9, coincidentally by another AMS 900x package powered car. No tweaks to my Road Course tune, we just ran it as is and it spanked! The car will be setup FOR drag racing and run again later this year, in hopes to become the worlds Quickest AND Fastest Evo X.
