AMS Performance has been hard at work developing a power upgrade package for the Porsche 997. This package offers similar upgrades to our highly acclaimed Alpha 9 GT-R Package. We still have a few more steps before the entire package is complete, but with the prototype turbo system together, we plan to bring our Porsche 997 test vehicle to the Texas Mile in an effort to collect more performance data. Yesterday our preferred car transport company Thomas Sunday dropped off the next batch of cars at AMS. This now brings the total GT-R head count at AMS to 15. It seems as soon as we deliver a few… a few more are right behind them.
First we have Jeff with his 2010 GT-R from Pound Ridge, NY. Jeff initially wanted an ALPHA 9 but the temptation for the ALPHA 10 was too great. Jeff’s goals are to build an 800whp Pump gas monster and we will deliver JUST THAT!
A little while ago our GT-R customer Zac walked into our showroom inquiring about doing an ALPHA 9 package to his new 2012 GT-R. We talked over the options and in addition to the ALPHA 9 estimate I gave him he also wanted an ALPHA 9 to 10 estimate. After showing his wife the info she replied with “well why don’t you just do ALPHA 10 in the first place and save some money doing it twice?” Talk about a keeper!
Shortly after that Zac confirmed the build and Tim Salefski our in house engine builder began working up an engine for him. Zac then dropped his baby off and our technician Eric Jones was put to work. The slated modifications for the car were as follows:

AMS ALPHA 12 makes history, World’s FIRST 8 Second R35 GT-R
History has been made! On Tuesday July 26th our AMS ALPHA 12 GT-R went back to the track with a little more favorable weather conditions. The result was the worlds first 8 second R35 GT-R!
Even with a poor 1.668 60 foot time, the ALPHA 12 driven by our own Special Projects Technician, Ivan Phipps, went 8.975@169.49 mph! Read more…
Recently we took our AMS ALPHA 12 equipped GT-R to the drag strip for some performance testing. The goal was to put the car through a series of abuse drag runs in order to solidify the engineering put behind it. Durring that testing we broke the record for HP, ET, MPH and 60-130 for a GT-R. This follow up video to that run show us using our TrackVision software to overlay the speedo on the record breaking run. Over 1300Whp, 9.05@166.66 with massive wheel spin all the way through 4th gear in BLISTERING heat and a 60-130mph time of 3.46. The ALPHA 12 has proven itself as the ALPHA of all GT-R performance packages!
As many of you know we have been working the VR38 motor program with the recent issues of the Nissan block cracking under extreme HP / Cylinder pressures . Our engineers and technicians have been hard at work and developed a new way to reinforce the block. We wanted to test this new theory and really put the car through its paces. The only way we know how to do that is to abuse it on the dyno and the track!
Last night we strapped the revised ALPHA 12 package to the dyno. The test vehicle was our own 2009 Nissan GT-R. Chris began tuning and the numbers just kept getting higher and higher. The final result was a Whopping 1318WHP at only 35 psi of boost! Read more…
