The AMS Blue Demon EVO and The Silver Bullet EVO X recently headed out to the Monticello Motor Club for the Targa 66 Track day event. Started in 1991 by Brian Redman, Targa Sixty Six is a prestigious track day event series for owners of vintage and modern high performance and collector cars that do not necessarily wish to race them, but who like to drive at speed under controlled conditions. We’ve had a chance to attend a Targa Sixty Six event earlier this year at the Palm Beach International Raceway and it was an absolute blast!

The events are known to attract some of the rarest cars in the world and the recent event at Monticello was no different. Some of the cars in attendance included a Porsche 997 GT3, a few Ferrari F430 Scuderia, Radical SR3 and a very rare Porsche 962. A one off Ferrari P4/5 by Pininfarina also made an appearance in the pits! Needless to say it was quite nice seeing The Blue Demon hunting down some of the fastest and most expensive cars on the planet.

A few months ago we completed one of our most intricate vehicle builds here at AMS Performance. The particular project is an “all out” Time Attack EVO IX nicknamed the “Blue Demon”. The customer who wishes to remain anonymous has gone through great lengths to plan out what could be called the ultimate time attack evo build and we’re truly honored to have been given an opportunity to transform his plans into reality!

It goes without saying that no expense has been spared on the build of the car which has spanned over a course of 18 months. From a lengthy list of custom chassis fabrication, complete new paint job, AMS 2.3RR engine pumping out healthy 650 ponies to the wheels, AP air jacks, triple adjustable JRZ race suspension, carbon fiber dash to a full Voltex Cyber EVO body kit, this car has it all and the list goes of goodies goes on and on.

Some of you may remember this car:

I put it back on the dyno to get the race gas portion of the tune dialed in. It made some pretty good power on pump gas a while back, and I’m not sure that I posted that up either. Anyways the final 93oct and q16 gas tunes are both pictured below. Results are great for a nice conservative road racing tune that will ensure longevity and reliability of the power plant. I will say that I am very impressed with the power it is making at 30psi.
