675RWHP Sinister C6 tuned by AMS

The Sinister C6 was brought to AMS for an LS7 MAF conversion, restrictor plate removal, misc. check ups /repairs and a re-tune with 93 / Meth. Our customer wanted to make approximately 750 rwhp on a DynoJet using the stock bottom end. Tuning was done on our Mustang Dyno and with a 7-10% loss when compared to our Dynojet, the final result was EXTREMELY close to meeting his goal.

TOPSPEED MOTORSPORTS GT-R WINS 2011 ONE LAP OF AMERICA WITH THE AMS ALPHA 9 PACKAGE

TOPSPEED MOTORSPORTS GT-R WINS 2011 ONE LAP OF AMERICA WITH THE AMS ALPHA 9 PACKAGE

Imagine a team of two traveling over 3500 miles to race 9 events in eight days at some of the most demanding road courses of the eastern and Midwest United States. Throw in a drag race event midway through the competition along with a wet and dry skid pad event to kick off and end it all and you’d think you’d already have a rough challenge ahead of you. Now imagine you have no transport vehicle, the whole journey would have to be traversed in your race vehicle and you have to do it all on ONE set of tires! That’s what Leh Keen and Doug Wilks had to do in their TopSpeed Motorsports GT-R along with roughly 80 other competition vehicles for a chance to win the 2011 Brock Yates’ One Lap of America.

Competition for the 2011 One Lap of America began at the Tire Rack facility in South Bend, IN on April 30, 2011. The event made its way full circle over 3500 miles throughout much of the eastern and Midwest United States and ended a little over one week later on May 5, 2011. With nine race events and two skid pad competitions, this event was a true a test of endurance for both man and machine.

Nathan Pitcher 929 Evo – Track Day Testing 3.26.2011

After about 4hrs of sleep, this (pic above) was the scene early Saturday morning – bundled up and unpacking the car! It was downright cold and windy in the morning and didn’t change much throughout the day. The high I seen was 36; maybe 37 degrees. Temps under 40 definitely bring up a host of additional issues! I was probably going to be running street tires all day and definitely needed to turn the boost down!

AMS Alpha 12 R35 GT-R : 9.1@159.97 at the TX2K11 Nationals

A lack of good weather and open tracks around Chicago made the TX2K11 Nationals a great opportunity for us to bring Tim Sanders’ Alpha 12 for some preliminary quarter mile track testing. During one of the test and tune sessions, Sander’s gray Alpha 12 was able to fire off a 9.1@159.97 run. The car is not dialed in to its full potential as of yet, but considering this was its first time to the track, the outcome was still very much a success.

We will have more updates on the Alpha 12 as the weather gets warmer and the tracks open up here in the Chicago area.

AMS Alpha 12: TX2K11 GT-R Dyno Competition 1st Place Finish

This past weekend, AMS brought out the gray Alpha 12, owned by Tim Sanders’ to the TX2K11 Nationals to run in the dyno competition and quarter mile at Lonestar Motorsports Park – the backyard of Hennessey Performance.

All awd vehicles ran on their Dyno Dynamics dynamometer. The Alpha 12 produced a final AWHP number of 1069, taking first place without having full traction on the rollers! The excessive wheel spin certainly effected the readings and left a nice coating of tire residue on the dyno platform.

Our record 9.1 quarter mile video will be up within the next few days so be sure to check back soon!
